Tyhina's History

Behind the technical characteristics, Tyhina is a love story.

She was born in 1984 at Aluminium & Techniques a French shipyard specialising in aluminium blue water yachts, and fitted out by André Rameau, one of France’s most re-known marine craftsmen.

Her original crew, Gérard and Mireille Remonay and their son Loic, lived on board for 20 years, exploring the Eastern coast of the Americas, from the Great Lakes to Guatemala. In 2005, they took the difficult decision to sell the boat to allow Loic to finish his schooling in a more stable environment. But the Remonays were not prepared to let just any body take over Tyhina.

Enter Peter & Maeva Elliott and their dream of remote adventuring.

The Remonays and the Elliotts ‘met’ on the Internet, exchanged stories and dreams, and Tyhina changed hands.
